Here you will find electronic copies of documents and guides available from ITS. Read the documents online, print or save them for future reference, some require your ITS username and password to access.

Some documents are in PDF format ( pdf format ) and you might need Adobe Acrobat reader installed on your computer to view them.

General information

We have an overview of ITS services for Birkbeck Students pdf format , which highlights services of particular interest and relevance to students. New students should receive this when they start at Birkbeck, additional printed copies are available from the ITS Helpdesk and Reception.

An overview of ITS facilities for staff ( pdf format ) is also available.

Documentation on Office 2010 is available in the Microsoft Office section.

These materials, available online, have been produced by the IT Literacy Project at Birkbeck.

Third Party Guides

Additionally we have Software Made Simple Guides to Microsoft Office Applications. These guides, supplied by the Software Made Simple company, assume you are using your own home or office computer and do not cover Birkbeck-specific configurations. You can obtain printed copies from the ITS Helpdesk and Reception or download PDF versions. Due to licensing these guides are only available to Birkbeck staff and students.
