Globalisation and world development group

Aims

The aims of this School of Geography group are to:

  • build on the School of Geography's strength in balancing academic and more policy-related research and outputs;
  • develop joint work and synergies within the School of Geography;
  • continue working with larger teams and networks, in the UK and globally.

Projects

Areas of research include:

  • the impact of western overseas volunteering on development goals;
  • the wider impacts of globalisation on people's working lives.

Funding for these projects ranges from government (the Department of International Development; the Department of Education) to the ESRC and other award bodies.
