About London SciTech Challenges

The demands of staging the 2012 Olympic Games provide a focal point for demand-led collaborative partnerships between London's business and academic sector. The Challenges represent what the London business and academic community need to do to meet these demands.

London SciTech Challenges represent clearly defined innovation gaps within the following sectors:

• Athletic Performance, Sport and Health
• Broadcasting and Media
• Engineering and Construction
• Environmental Legacy
• Food Technology and Distribution
• Research and Monitoring Devices

An academic response to a challenge may be a completely new innovation or the re-working of an idea the academic has been working on for some time. The approach may involve re-configuring or suggeting novel ways of applying existing technologies; these ideas are welcome.
