Research projects

As part of its work, the Centre seeks to undertake externally-funded research projects and to support collaborative research initiatives involving colleagues from Birkbeck, other academic institutions and non-academic agencies and community groups.

Current externally-funded projects being managed through the Centre are:

Negotiating religion and the secular in UK Higher Education: an exploration of the policy implications of conflicts relating to student faith groups (AHRC collaborative doctoral award, managed in conjunction with the National Union of Students)
Religion, the sacred and changing cultures of everyday life (AHRC-funded research network)

Young people and the cultural performance of belief (AHRC/ESRC-funded network)
